BPS Collaboration & UNG Faculty of Economics in Utilizing Data and Statistical with Lakustik

Thursday, 06 July 2023 at Prof. Hall. Kadir Abdussamad UNG, Central Bureau of Statistics for Gorontalo Province provides BPS statistical or practical consulting services to students of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, State University of Gorontalo.

This activity is a form of collaboration between the Faculty of Economics, State University of Gorontalo and the Gorontalo Province Central Bureau of Statistics for the utilization of statistical data and services in improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The activity was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics UNG Raflin Hinelo.

In his remarks, Raflin appreciated the Gorontalo Province Central Statistics Agency for providing material related to statistical consulting services. At the Faculty of Economics, Statistical Data is interesting and needed by academics and practitioners alike, so through this activity Raflin hopes students can follow it well.

"The BPS itself displays the data. Our job as academics is to read and translate these figures. Thank God, we are at the Faculty of Economics. Almost 60 percent of us use statistical data, both regarding finance, especially related to macro and microeconomics. The use of BPS data is indeed very interesting. once," Raflin said.

Meanwhile, Associate Expert Statistician Prasaja Arifyanto explained, previously to assist the public in obtaining statistical data or consultations, BPS Gorontalo Province had made an innovation, namely the Statistical Consultation Service (LAKUSTIK) which could be accessed by the public free of charge.

This Lakustik Innovation provides online and offline consulting services.

"So Lakustik currently provides 4 services, namely the first Live chat service (website), then Whatsapp, Face-to-Face Consultation Services and online services via video conferencing. Not only the community or students in the area who can access, from outside the Gorontalo area who Those who need consultations can also access it. For the Faculty of Economics, the Department of Economics today we provide face-to-face consulting services," explained Prasaja.

In addition to Statistical Consultation Services and Utilization of data from statistical activities for research, material on how to obtain micro data at BPS was also presented, which was delivered directly by Abdurahman Assel, Junior Computer Expert at BPS Gorontalo Province. The socialization was attended by students majoring in UNG economics, alumni and several lecturers from the Faculty of Economics.
