Abstract

In order to increase the rate of economic growth, the Gorontalo Province regional government is actively implementing various development programs. Many factors can support the success of regional development, one of which is the capacity of human resources (population). It is undeniable that human capital or population is very influential on the economic growth rate of a region. Because the population is the main driver in development. Human capital is a terminology that refers to the development of human capacity in the fields of education, health, and other potential developments. By increasing the capacity of human resources, it will certainly increase productivity which has an impact on accelerating economic growth.
Developments in population capacity can be measured through various population indicators. Therefore, the government really needs population data in determining the direction of policy. The government as policy maker is in need of continuous population data from year to year. The data needed is not only related to the condition at the time the policy was prepared, but also the information of the past and more importantly is the estimated information in the future. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS), as a data provider, seeks to meet these needs by calculating population data projections from the results of the Population Census (SP).
