Abstract

Farmer's Terms of Trade (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one of the indicators used to assess the purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. It also reflects the exchange value of agricultural products against the goods and services consumed or used for production costs.
In May 2025, Gorontalo’s NTP was 115.82, an increase of 1.53 percent compared to the previous month. The rise in NTP was due to an increase in It by 0.56 percent, while Ib decreased by 0.95 percent.
Out of 14 provinces in Eastern Indonesia, 13 provinces experienced an increase in NTP. The highest increase in May 2025 occurred in North Sulawesi Province, at 3.92 percent. A decrease in NTP occurred in the Highland Papua Province, at 0.51 percent.
In May 2025, the Consumer Price Index of Rural Households (IKRT) in Gorontalo Province decreased by 1.78 percent, with the highest index decline occurring in the food, beverages, and tobacco group, which fell by 2.74 percent.
