Abstract

January 2025, Gorontalo Province had year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation of 1.52 percent. Gorontalo Municipality had year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation of 1.29 percent and Gorontalo Regency had year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation of 1.71 percent.
The y-on-y deflation in Gorontalo Province occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index in four expenditure groups, namely the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 1.29 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 10.72 percent; the household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.11 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.74 percent. Seven expenditure groups experienced y-on-y inflation, namely the clothing and footwear group by 2.87 percent; the health group by 0.28 percent; the transportation group by 0.06 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.39 percent; education group by 0.55 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.02 percent; and personal care and other services group by 3.34 percent.
In January 2025, Gorontalo Province had month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation of 1.64 percent and year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation of 1.64 percent.
